Arrival Experience — patients recognised at the door, not re-interviewed at the desk.

A calmer hospital front door: pre-registration plus consent-gated entrance recognition that surfaces the arriving patient's details to the front desk — their appointment and history already on screen. Built consent-first, and bridged into the hospital information system you already run.

A complementary front-door layer — it sits in front of your existing HIS, not in place of it. In active deployment at a critical-care hospital.

Consent-first by design

Biometrics only ever with permission — and only for as long as it's given.

Face recognition in a hospital is a serious responsibility. The Arrival Experience is engineered so that identification happens only with a patient's explicit consent, the data footprint stays minimal, and consent is reversible.

  • Explicit opt-in — biometric identification requires a consent checkbox at registration; without it, no enrolment happens.
  • Withdraw any time — withdrawing consent deletes the face embedding; a retention sweep purges embeddings on a configurable schedule.
  • Digital-curtain privacy mode and events-only frame retention — the system keeps recognition events, not a video record of everyone who walked in.
  • Unknown and non-consenting faces are never stored; staff are excluded from matching.
  • Aadhaar, when used, is optional and consent-gated — full numbers are never stored, only a salted hash for de-duplication.

How it works

From pre-registration to a greeting by name.

01

Before the visit

Patients pre-register on a mobile web portal — details, a photo, and prior reports — with explicit, required consent for biometric identification. Optional Aadhaar verification runs privacy-preserving (checksum offline; only a salted fingerprint and last four digits are ever kept).

02

At the door

An entrance camera recognises an enrolled, consenting patient and surfaces their card to the front desk — appointment, visit purpose, and last-visit history — so they don't have to re-explain who they are. Unknown faces are matched against nothing and stored as nothing; staff are skipped.

03

At the desk

One card per patient with a multi-camera arrival trail (parking lot 10:40 → main entrance 10:43). The desk greets the patient by name with their scheduled visit already in front of them.

Sits in front of your HIS

A bridge, not a replacement.

The Arrival Experience integrates with your existing hospital information system over HL7 v2 — registering pre-registered patients and announcing their arrival, and ingesting the HIS's own admissions and scheduling feed so the front-desk card shows the visit purpose and history the HIS already holds.

Integration is best-effort by contract: a HIS outage never blocks patient onboarding or disturbs the live arrivals board.

Where it fits

Our lead practice, in a real hospital.

The Arrival Experience is built by our Safety & Computer Vision practice — the same edge-inference, audit-logging, and DPDP-aligned engineering that runs our multi-site safety-vision platform, applied to the hospital front door.
